Ariel Fernandez

Ariel Fernandez is a seasoned figure in Philippine media with a distinguished career in journalism spanning broadcast, print, and international news organizations. He brings decades of experience in reporting, media leadership, and professional advocacy.

He has served two terms as President of the Airport Press Corps and three terms as President of the Southern Metro Manila Press Club, reflecting the trust and respect he has earned within the Philippine media community. He is also a member of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP), and the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Philippine Archipelago, Masonic Jurisdiction – Valley of Cavite.

Professional Experience

Mr. Fernandez has held key reporting roles across major national and international media platforms, including:

• Manila Bulletin – Reporter (2015–Present)

• GMA News – Stringer (2013–Present)

• Nippon Japanese Television – Local Stringer (2018)

His broadcast journalism career began in DYBR Tacloban, followed by assignments with DZME Capitol Broadcasting, Radio Inquirer (2011–2012), and Radyo Pilipinas (2019–2020). He also served for over a decade as a reporter with RMN DZXL Manila (1998–2011), where he built a strong reputation for credible and impactful reporting.

Education

Mr. Fernandez earned a degree in Political Science from Arellano University, Pasay City. He also has a background in Marine Engineering from the Leyte Institute of Technology, Tacloban City, adding technical depth to his journalistic perspective.
