Batangas Triumphant in “Women’s Month” Celeb

The Provincial Government of Batangas has successfully celebrated Provincial Women’s Month at the DREAM Zone Capitol Compound in the Batangas City yesterday.

The celebration highlighted the important role of women in the province’s development.

Governor Vilma Santos-Recto in a message emphasized that women are more than just their traditional roles as mothers or caregivers.

“Women are leaders, agents of change, and partners in promoting a more inclusive society,” she declared.

Ms. Aileen Constantino-Peñas, Executive Director of Atikha Overseas Workers and Communities Initiative Inc., shared insights on the proper use of social media and the role of women in the digital age.

Batangas 2nd District Representative Gerville Reyes-Luistro also attended as one of the speakers in the program.

The event also featured the oath-taking of newly elected officials from various women’s organizations in the province, including the Provincial Women Coordinating Council Batangas Inc. (PWCCBI), Batangas Province Alay Lakad Foundation, Inc. (BPALFI), and the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines Inc. (ALSWDOPI).

The event demonstrated that Batangueña leaders are living symbols of dedication in advancing women’s rights and welfare.

As the highlight of the celebration, participants shined in the “Indak ng Kababaihan, Sayaw ng Kasaysayan” dance competition, which showcased the talent, history, culture, and strength of women in the province.

San Jose won first place and received ₱50,000, while Bauan placed second with ₱35,000, and Taysan came in third. They were also awarded certificates of recognition in appreciation of their excellence.

Also present and participating in the program were 2nd District Board Member Maria Reina Abu-Reyes, 5th District Board Member Dr. Jun Berberabe, Cinderella Valenton-Reyes, Mayor of the Municipality of Agoncillo, and several department heads of the Provincial Capitol.
