The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it remains on alert and fully coordinated with law enforcement partners amid reports that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may soon issue additional arrest warrants.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the PNP continues to anchor its actions on due process and established legal frameworks.
The statement came amid reports that the ICC is preparing further warrants that could involve several personalities in the Philippines.
“We remain fully committed to our mandate of upholding the rule of law, including the enforcement of any legal orders. As officers of the law, this is our sworn duty,” Nartatez said in a statement.
The assurance came as the PNP continues to coordinate with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and other agencies in anticipation of possible legal actions that may require a joint operational response.
The Department of Justice ordered the PNP and the NBI to enforce the ICC warrant against Sen. Roland “Bato dela Rosa after the Supreme Court denied his request for a temporary restraining order.
The ICC ordered Dela Rosa’s arrest for crimes against humanity in connection with the previous administration’s violent war on drugs that left thousands of suspects, including minors, dead.
Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro earlier said Malacañang wants any forthcoming ICC warrants enforced at the soonest possible time.
The PNP, according to Nartatez, “will only act upon orders issued by proper authorities, ensuring that they are in accordance with existing rules and protocols.”

“As a professional and disciplined institution, the PNP ensures that all actions remain consistent with standard operating procedures,” he said.
