DMW Undersecretary Felicitas Q. Bay, Assistant Secretary Jules Ambito-Fermin, and other key officials received a Hungary-based workforce and industrial delegation during a courtesy call on January 19, 2026, at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong City to discuss cooperation on the ethical deployment of skilled Filipino workers to support Hungary’s rapidly expanding battery manufacturing industry.
The delegation was composed of representatives from Prohuman Zrt., a leading workforce solutions provider in Central Europe, and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), one of the world’s largest battery manufacturing companies. Discussions focused on Hungary’s growing demand for highly skilled and technically trained workers, particularly in battery production, industrial operations, and related support services, driven by major investments in electric vehicle and energy storage technologies.
The Hungarian delegation also expressed its appreciation to the DMW for its openness to dialogue and its strong support for learning and capacity-building initiatives related to overseas employment. Among these initiatives is the upcoming Welfare Training for Hungarian and Filipino Coordinators, aimed at strengthening on-site worker support mechanisms, as well as a Business Forum, described as the first of its kind training and first forum to be held in 2026 in Hungary. The said training and forum are scheduled to take place in Hungary from January 21 to 23, 2026.
