The City Government of Muntinlupa has officially launched RIDEMed (Responsive Integrated Delivery of Essential Medicines), a free medicine delivery service for bedridden senior citizens and those aged 80 and above.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon personally led the inaugural RIDEMed delivery, riding a motorcycle to bring maintenance medicines straight to the homes of selected senior beneficiaries. “RIDEMed is about reaching those who need us most,” said Mayor Biazon. “We want our seniors to feel cared for, not just through medicine, but through presence, respect, and consistency.”
Helmet and RIDEMed pack in hand, Mayor Biazon joined the city’s health workers on the ground—knocking on doors, checking in on elders, and delivering not only medical supplies but also a powerful message of compassion and care.
Through RIDEMed, eligible residents will receive monthly maintenance medicines including losartan, amlodipine, metformin, atorvastatin, and vitamin b complex, delivered by RIDEMed riders and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs). Each visit includes basic health checks such as blood pressure and oximeter monitoring to ensure continued care.
The program aims to ease the burden of travel and long queues for seniors who are unable to visit health centers regularly, ensuring consistent access to their medication.
Registration for RIDEMed is now open at all barangay health centers. Caregivers or family members may also enroll on behalf of qualified seniors. Those who do not qualify for RIDEMed may still receive free maintenance medicines through the city’s “Love Ko si Lolo, Love Ko si Lola” program.
RIDEMed underscores Muntinlupa City’s commitment to inclusive, responsive, and compassionate public service.
