Former vice president and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo shoot down claims that a video of her on a bus ride bound for Manila was “fake, “doctored”, or a photoshoot.”
Robredo’s reaction came amid social media posts claiming that images of her working on a bus were “doctored” and merely a “photoshoot.”
On March 13, the Mayor Robredo shared a video of herself sitting on a commuter bus bound for Metro Manila, with no other bodyguards or security personnel visible in the background.
She also appeared to be working, holding documents in her hand.
“Sagot sa “fake news” ng mga tao na walang kilalang politiko na nag-bu-bus na walang bodyguard na kasama,” Robredo wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
Robredo said, the video was posted by SK Chair Marlon Casilao who was also at the bus terminal for a send off of his mom going to Manila.
“Pasensya na sa mga pasahero na nakasama sa video,” Robredo said.
Casilao previously posted the video on his Facebook account, saying it was a shame Robredo was not on the same trip as his mother.
“Sayang lang at hindi kayo nagkasabay ni mama sa bus!” he captioned the post.
“Grabe ka talaga, mayor, work ka pa din kahit nasa loob na ng bus. Ingat din po sa biyahe!” Casilao said.
The Naga Chief Executive confirmed that the video was genuine; and, her bus trip to Manila that day was a scheduled travel and witnessed by many.
Robredo is publicly known to take a bus in her travels to and from Naga City, her home town, and Manila through the years.
Critics led by disgraced lawyer Harry Roque who tried to twist the authenticity of the event with “fake” or “photoshoot” claims in his Facebook page was outrightly, flatly, and horribly debunked.
