SRSH: NEW HEALTH FACILITY FOR CANCER AND KIDNEY DISEASES

SANTA ROSA CITY lone district Congressman Roy M. Gonzales has launched an initiative to establish a top hospital that specializes in cancer treatment and kidney dialysis for city residents.

In a determined support to his bid, Gonzales introduced this week House Bill No. 2483, with his top hope that once acted into law, it will set a comprehensive approach to health development that ensures essential goods and services to all people at affordable cost; and further support the development of accessible, affordable, and specialized healthcare facilities to address especially the increasing prevalence of chronic and life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and kidney diseases in the City of Santa Rosa.

Gonzales further said that the new health care facility will be called Santa Rosa Special Hospital (SRSH) that will specialize in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of cancer and kidney diseases.

“Tens of thousands of city residents will be benefitted through all free SRSH medical services,” Gonzales said.

In the proposed bill, it is cited that SRSH shall facility shall have:

(a) Cancer Treatment Facility equipped with chemotherapy, medical oncology, radiation therapy, and cancer surgery services;

(b) Kidney Dialysis Center equipped with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units and facilities for renal patient care; and,

(c) Additional diagnostic imaging, laboratory, outpatient, inpatient, pharmacy, and other medical ancillary services.

Gonzales is highly-optimistic that SRSH will be an advancement to the city’s health programs especially through the Tripartite Agreement among the Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways and the City of Sta. Rosa.
