Bicol Saro Partylist Representative Brian Raymund Yamsuan has congratulated the Gilas Pilipinas men’s national basketball team for bringing home the once-elusive gold for the Philippines at the 19th Asian Games.
“Ang tagumpay n’yo ay tagumpay ng buong sambayanang Pilipino,” said Yamsuan as he joined a euphoric nation in celebrating Gilas Pilipinas’ historic victory.
Gilas Pilipinas’ sensational win over Jordan in the finals match held Friday night in Hangzhou, China ended the Philippines’ 61-year gold medal dry spell in the Asian Games.
“Isang pagpupugay sa Gilas Pilipinas sa kanilang pag-uwi ng gintong medalya sa Asian Games matapos ang mahigit anim na dekadang paghihintay. To our Gilas team, your victory is proof that nothing is impossible with determination and hard work,” Yamsuan said.
“Know that a proud and grateful nation awaits your return dahil ang tagumpay n’yo ay tagumpay ng buong sambayanang Pilipino. Mabuhay kayo!” he said.
