At 10am Tuesday Jan 17 2023 , our plane had to abort the flight at NAIA after developing a mechanical issue in one of its engines. My team and I were supposed to be on our way to distribute assistance to our fellow Filipinos affected by heavy rains and floods in Mapanas, Catarman and Lavezares, all in Northern Samar. I was also scheduled to inspect the Super Health Center and a newly constructed covered court in Lavezares, as well as the renovated public market in Catarman .
Despite best efforts to secure alternative flights, with much regret, we cannot push through with my personal visit. The safety of everyone on board is also paramount. However, we made sure that the scheduled activities, particularly the distribution of much needed assistance to the affected families, be conducted without delay. My staff had been on the ground in Northern Samar for several days already, assisting local authorities address the needs of the victims.
Salamat sa Diyos na ligtas naman kami at walang gaanong aberya ang idinulot sa ating paliparan sa nangyari. I commend the MIAA personnel for the swift recovery action to minimize adverse impact on other flight operations and the plane crew for ensuring our safety.
God willing, patuloy po akong bibisita sa ating mga kababayang tinamaan ng sakuna at nangangailangan dahil sa iba’t ibang krisis na hinaharap ng ating bansa. Tutulong po ako sa abot ng aking makakaya nasaan man kayo sa bansa.
Pagkatapos ng launching agad na magtutungo si Go sa ceremonial groundbreaking ng Mambajao Super Health Center sa Camiguin.
Susundan ito ng pamamahagi ng assistance sa iba’t ibang sektor sa Mambajao Camiguin.
Bibisitahin na din ni Go ang mga pinondohan niyang proyekto sa Barangay Bonbon Catarman .
Pagkatapos ng sunod-sunod na aktibidad ni Go, lilipad ito diretso sa Davao.
Matatandaan na ang nangyaring aberya kahapon ay ang pangalawang pagkakataon na muntik nang madisgrasya si Go kasama ang kanyang matalik na kaibigan na si Philip Salvador at ang kanyang grupo kung saan patungo sana ito sa Northern Samar para maghatid ng tulong sa mga binaha habang ang unang insidente ay sa Isabela city Basilan nang sumubsob ang sinasakyan nitong helicopter matapos pasinayaan ang isang Malasakit Center
