President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced the upcoming groundbreaking of a new Philippine General Hospital (PGH) branch in Carmona, Cavite, this May, marking a major milestone in expanding healthcare access for Caviteños and nearby provinces.
The new PGH facility will have a 200-bed capacity designed to provide quality medical services to one of the fastest-growing provinces.
“Mayroon tayong bubuksan na branch ng PGH na…200 beds. Mag-groundbreaking daw kami itong Mayo na ito, isang PGH na hospital sa Carmona,” President Marcos said.
The President emphasized that the hospital project reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that communities benefit directly from national government support.
President Marcos made the announcement during the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang” event in General Trias, Cavite, where the President also highlighted the timely rollout of government programs that provide rice subsidies and financial assistance to barangays.
The Chief Executive noted that these initiatives are crucial in helping families cope with rising prices of basic commodities amid the ongoing global oil crisis.
The event was attended by General Trias Mayor Luis A. Ferrer IV, former Cavite governor and Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr., national and local and barangay officials, and over 2,300 residents.
The projected PGH Carmona branch underscores the administration’s vision of ensuring that healthcare, food security, and community development remain at the forefront of national priorities.
