Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III received the Outstanding Senate President Award during the 9th Grand National Convention of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) held in Pasay City today.
Sotto, who also served as the event’s Guest of Honor, extended his congratulations to Chief Public Attorney Persida Rueda-Acosta, as well as to the lawyers and staff of PAO, the arm of the Department of Justice that provides legal assistance to Filipinos.
“For those in public service, we are not given this power for own sake, we are given it to protect the vulnerable and build institutions worthy of the people that we serve,” he said.
PAO is the only attached agency of the Department of Justice to achieve a perfect score in the 2025 Annual Agency Performance Review conducted by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
The Senate President also commended PAO for consistently fulfilling its mandate and for achieving 100% utilization of its budget.
