District Collector Carmelita Talusan joined industry leaders and government officials at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) organized by CAMPI under the theme “Forward in Every Drive,” held on June 4, 2026, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
Among the distinguished guests were Patrick T. Aquino, Director of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) of the Department of Energy, and the hosts and organizers of the event, Jose Maria “Jing” Atienza, President of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), and Atty. Rhys Alexei Murillo, CAMPI Vice President and representative of Nissan Philippines, Inc.
During the event, CAMPI recognized the significant role and continuing support of the Port of Batangas as one of the country’s major automotive gateways, facilitating the efficient customs clearance of imported vehicles and automotive parts from leading car manufacturers and contributing to the sustained growth of the Philippine automotive industry.
Collector Talusan emphasized that the Port’s focus on faster and more efficient customs processes is aligned with the reform agenda of Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, particularly in strengthening trade facilitation, enhancing operational efficiency, promoting transparency, and fostering stronger partnerships with stakeholders while ensuring effective border protection and revenue collection.
She reaffirmed the Bureau of Customs’ commitment to supporting the growth of the Philippine automotive industry through efficient cargo processing, streamlined procedures, ensure timely release of shipments, to support the country’s automotive sector.
The participation of government and industry leaders underscored their shared commitment to advancing innovation, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and economic development as the automotive industry moves “Forward in Every Drive.”
