Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) MIMAROPA Regional Director Engr. Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, together with Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, conducted a joint inspection today, 18 August, of a flood dike in the town of Bongabong in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to investigate and review flood control projects nationwide.
Director Pacanan clarified that all government flood control projects under his jurisdiction are currently being reviewed, with a comprehensive report to be submitted to the DPWH national office. He assured the public that the agency remains committed to transparency, accountability, and delivering innovative and quality infrastructure.
Pacanan likewise expressed his commitment to Governor Dolor, affirming that DPWH MIMAROPA fully supports the Governor’s intent that the people of Oriental Mindoro must have the right to ensure that government projects truly serve their purpose.
He also encouraged citizens in MIMAROPA to actively report any suspicion of substandard DPWH projects through the official DPWH MIMAROPA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/1CQP6UTn5d/?mibextid=wwXIfr.
“Public vigilance is vital in ensuring that infrastructure projects truly serve the people,” he said.
