Six travel destinations in the Philippines were nominated to various categories in the prestigious World Travel Awards 2026.
Among the categories where the Philippines is nominated are:
▪︎ Asia’s Leading Beach Destination
▪︎ Asia’s Leading Dive Destination
▪︎ Asia’s Leading Island Destination
▪︎ Asia’s Leading Tourist Board for the Department of Tourism (DOT)
The Philippine destinations nominated include:
▪︎ Boracay for Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination
▪︎ Cebu for Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination
▪︎ San Fernando, Pampanga for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination
▪︎ Clark Freeport Zone for Asia’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination
▪︎ Intramuros for Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction
▪︎ Aurora for Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination
In line with this, the DOT is encouraging the public to support the Philippines’ this year’s bid in the WTA.
The public may vote until June 17, 2026, on the official website of the World Travel Awards.
