The AKO-OFW Partylist has clarified that they are different from OFW Partylist that voted to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.
This comes after social media posts expressed outrage over the OFW Partylist’s decision, led by Marissa del Mar.
According to AKO-OFW Partylist Chairman and 1st nominee Dr. Chie Umandap, their partylist is distinct from the OFW Partylist.
Dr. Umandap expressed concern that OFWs might mistakenly think that their partylist made the decision to vote for the impeachment of VP Sara.
Dr. Umandap added that Marissa del Mar should have consulted the OFW sector to determine their stance on the issue.
The AKO-OFW Partylist, led by Dr. Chie Umandap, genuinely advocates for the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) including
OFW Pension Plan, Pabahay Program, Livelihood program, Expanded Scholarship, OFW Hospital Ward and Free Wi-Fi in every Barangay.
These programs demonstrate the AKO-OFW Partylist’s commitment to supporting and empowering OFWs and their families.
In contrast to Cong. Marissa Del Mar’s OFW Partylist, the AKO-OFW Partylist didn’t support making online sabong (cockfighting) legal, which is strongly opposed by many OFWs.
Dr. Umandap urged voters to be discerning in the upcoming elections and to look for the 116-AKO OFW PARTYLIST.
