A Chinese woman who hid as a fugitive in the Philippines for more than four years is now facing deportation after her arrest by agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Xu Yinling, 35, female, is wanted in China for the crime of money laundering with a detention warrant issued by the Beilun Branch of the Ningbo Public Security Bureau on March 24, 2022,

Intelligence report bared by BI cite that Xu, in conspiracy with several cohorts, facilitated the transfer of illicit proceeds through underground banking channels as part of a large-scale suspected money laundering operation.

BI records show that Xu relocated to the Philippines and sought sanctuary to evade charges filed against her.

She was arrested by the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) along Arnaiz Ave. in Makati City, and
now faces a deportation case.

“We will not allow fugitives to use the country to evade facing penalties for their crimes,” said Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado. “Xu’s arrest and eventual deportation serves as a strong signal that we will continue to work with our foreign counterparts to ensure justice is served,” he added.
