PBBM Advances Housing, Services Initiatives

Even as the country grapples with rising temperatures and an ongoing energy challenge, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. underscored that government services remain uninterrupted, highlighting housing initiatives that are transforming the lives of Filipino families.

In a recent Facebook vlog, President Marcos assured the public that governance does not slow down in times of crisis, emphasizing that public service must continue across all sectors.

“Kahit mabigat ang krisis natin sa enerhiya, ang trabaho ng gobyerno ay hindi maaaring doon lang tumigil. Patuloy ang paggawa ng mga kalye at daan,” the President said, noting that infrastructure, healthcare, education, peace and order, and support for culture and tourism remain active priorities.

President Marcos stressed that the government cannot afford to be paralyzed by challenges.

“Hindi natin hahayaang maparalisa ang serbisyong binibigay ng gobyerno, ano man ang problemang hinaharap,” President Marcos added.

At the heart of the vlog was a human-interest story on beneficiaries of the administration’s flagship housing initiative, the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH), which seeks to address the country’s long-standing housing backlog.

For many Filipino families, owning a home has long remained an elusive dream but President Marcos’ program, however, is beginning to turn that aspiration into reality.

“Ang mga pangarap ninyo, ang pangarap din ng Pangulo… hindi lang para magtayo ng mga bahay, kundi para ibalik ang pag-asa at dignidad ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” the narration in the vlog said.

During a recent visit to housing projects in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija, President Marcos personally checked on developments to ensure that units are safe, livable, and accessible to beneficiaries.

“Nakakatuwa na makita na mas maginhawa at maganda ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan,” the President added, reflecting on the improved living conditions of residents.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, led by Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, noted that the program offers various housing options, including house-and-lot packages, to restore dignity to Filipino families.

“Ang dignidad ng pamilya… ay pag nagkaroon siya ng sarili niyang bahay,” Aliling said in the vlog.

Beneficiaries also cited lower housing costs as a key factor, with government-subsidized interest rates reduced to as low as one to three percent, making homeownership more attainable for qualified applicants.

President Marcos reiterated the administration’s commitment to closing the housing gap nationwide.

“Yung mga kulang na bahay ay gagawaan natin ng paraan upang ang lahat ng nangangailangan ng pabahay ay gagawan natin,” the President said.

As the government continues to roll out its programs, President Marcos emphasized that progress is measured not only by infrastructure completed but also by lives improved, one home and one family at a time.
