Fifty officials and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections who were earlier relieved of their duties from the maximum security compound have completed their leadership seminar and received their certificates yesterday at the New Conference Room, National Headquarters, Muntinlupa City.
The 50 BuCor personnel were part of the 700 assigned at the maximum security compound who were ordered relieved by BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio O. Catapang Jr. due to various violations.
They underwent a seminar on leadership courtesy of the Master’s Lighthouse Foundation headed by Anthony Pangilinan.
The seminar is part of the reform program being implemented by Catapang to instill values and restore ethics among BuCor personnel for them to be righteous.
“Kahit anong pagbabago ang gagawin natin at kahit anong tino ng isang lider kung yung values ng mga tao natin ay hindi natin maitatama, walang mangyayari, kaya talagang kailangan nating gawan ng paraan para maibalik natin yung tamang paguugali. Umpisa pa lang ito ng series of seminars para sa ating mga personnel,” Catapang said.
Catapang added that they have to be reminded of the prison rules and regulations that they claimed they are not aware of and to give them extra or additional instruction on how to do their job well.
The seminar aims to impart to attendees individual change, institutional change and community change to be a better person and be of good service to the bureau.
