To mark the start of the new school year, Mayor Lani Cayetano led the distribution of free school supplies and uniforms to students in all public schools in Taguig.
Starting last Saturday, July 27, the city began distributing complete sets of school supplies and uniforms to over 190,000 students across 52 schools. These uniforms and supplies feature improved designs and materials, incorporating feedback from students, parents, and teachers from the previous school year.
To ensure an orderly distribution, supplies and uniforms were given to each class adviser for their respective classrooms. The City has also introduced free alteration services in every school to ensure proper fitting of the uniforms.
Mayor Lani Cayetano emphasized the city’s commitment to education during the distribution.
Parents thanked Mayor Lani and the City of Taguig for the financial relief, especially given the high cost of school supplies.
Libre lahat. Nawa po’y magpatuloy po ito,” said Jessa Radazza, mother of Josh Andrei, an incoming Kinder learner.
The distribution of free school supplies and uniforms is part of Taguig’s dedication to education, which boasts of the highest scholarship budget in the country at ₱850 million. Taguig schools operate under a strict no collection policy, ensuring that education remains free and accessible to all students.
