The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines proudly hosts the 59th Conference of the Directors General of Civil Aviation
(DGCA) of the Asia and Pacific Regions, held in the vibrant setting of Cebu from October 14-18, 2024.
The DGCA Conference is an annual gathering of Directors General of Civil Aviation from across the Asia-Pacific, bringing together key stakeholders, including government officials, airline executives, aviation infrastructure developers, and aviation safety experts. It serves as a critical platform for addressing the most pressing challenges and emerging trends in the aviation sector.
This year’s theme, “Shaping the Future of Aviation: Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive,” is both timely and globally relevant. The theme underscores the aviation industry’s adaptability in supporting development while mitigating climate change impacts and demonstrates its commitment to resilience.
The DGCA Conference aims to meet and discuss important matters at policy level, conceptual issues, as well as global and regional trends which helps sustaining the growth of aviation in the region; discuss and deliberate on important issues related to aviation safety, security, and infrastructure development; and features an exhibition where industry vendors and service providers showcase their latest products and solutions.
Notably, the Philippines has the honor of hosting the DGCA for the fourth time, with previous conferences held in Manila (1960, 2002) and the 52nd DGCA in 2015. The country’s rich aviation history and its commitment to driving the industry forward make it an ideal host for this prestigious event.
