Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista made a visit to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Central Office in Pasay City on Friday, 14 February 2024, ahead of his departure from the post next week. The visit provided an opportunity for the Secretary to express his gratitude and deliver a final message to the CAAP team.
In his remarks, Secretary Bautista emphasized the CAAP’s crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of air travel nationwide. He also commended the agency’s unwavering commitment to international standards and its focus on providing a seamless air travel experience for the flying public.
Moreover, CAAP management, led by Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, acknowledged the Secretary’s support and guidance over the past two years, which has enabled the Authority to deliver essential services to the riding public.
Secretary Bautista’s office was temporarily based at the CAAP head office for a year before its permanent establishment at the current DOTr complex in San Juan City.
Since 2022, Secretary Bautista has led the DOTr in close collaboration with the CAAP, resulting in transformational projects and landmark achievements that have significantly improved the nation’s aviation sector and the travel experience for the public.
