In another victory against illegal drugs, the Taguig City Police Station (TCPS) seized over ₱4.8 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, reinforcing Mayor Lani Cayetano’s zero-tolerance policy on drugs.
The operation, conducted at around 11:40 p.m. along Cabasan Street, Barangay South Signal, led to the arrest of Sherhana Hatae alias “Sherhana,” a 33-year-old resident of San Jose, Guadalupe, Makati City.
Authorities recovered 3 knot-tied plastic bags containing 708.5 grams of shabu valued at ₱4,817,800, along with buy-bust money consisting of a genuine ₱1,000 bill and 49 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, as well as a lavender paper bag used during the transaction.
With this accomplishment, Taguig Police Chief PCOL Joey T. Goforth stressed Taguig’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs:
“Our efforts are inspired by Mayor Lani’s zero-tolerance policy on drugs. We remain dedicated to making Taguig a drug-cleared city and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all Taguigeños.”
Mayor Lani Cayetano praised the Taguig police force for their success:
“The police force’s unwavering commitment reflects our collective effort to protect our communities and provide a better future for every resident in our Transformative, Lively, and Caring Probinsyudad.”
This operation is the latest in a string of successful buy-busts by TCPS, which has consistently demonstrated its commitment to combatting illegal drugs. In August 2024, the station earned national recognition at the 123rd Police Service Anniversary Celebration as the National Winner, achieving an impressive record of over 1,700 drug-related arrests.
